Goodness Is Everywhere

I had, a few days ago, an insight which consoled me very much.
It was during my thanksgiving, when I make
a few reflections upon the goodness of God, and
how should one not think of this at such a time, of that
infinite goodness, uncreated goodness, the source of
all goodness….

I saw written as in letters of gold this word “Goodness”
which I repeated for a long time with indescribable sweetness.
I beheld it, I say, written upon all creatures, animate

and inanimate,
rational or not, all bore this name goodness….

I understood then that all these creatures have of goodness and
all the services and assistance that we receive from each of them
is a benefit which we owe to the goodness of God
who has communicated to them something of his
infinite goodness
so that we may meet it in everything and everywhere.

Your Divine Charity

Omnipotent Father,
God of truth, God of love,
permit me to enter into
the cell of self-knowledge.
I admit that of myself I am nothing,
but that all being and goodness

in me comes solely from You.
Show me my faults, that I may
detest my malice, and thus I
shall flee from self-love
and find myself clothed again
in the nuptial robe of divine charity,
which I must have in order
to be admitted to the nuptials of life eternal.

Good St. Dymphna, you placed all your hope in Christ’s promises, and sacrificed even your life in that hope. The Lord, God, rewarded your constancy by making your name known and loved over many centuries by the thousands whom you have aided in time of difficulty. Please assist us now in our present necessity and intercede before God for our intentions. Obtain for us a firm hope like your own in God’s unfailing protection. Amen.

Brigid, you were a woman of peace,
You brought harmony where there was conflict.
You brought light to the darkness.
You brought hope to the downcast.
May the mantle of your peace
cover those who are troubled and anxious,
And may peace be firmly rooted in our hearts and in our world.

Prayer to Saint Lucy

God, our Creator and Redeemer, mercifully hear our prayers that as we venerate your servant, Saint Lucy, for the light of faith you bestowed upon her, you would increase and preserve this same light in our souls that we may be able to avoid evil, to do good, and to abhor nothing so much as the blindness and the darkness of evil and of sin. Relying on your goodness, O God, we humbly ask you, by the intercessory prayers of your servant, Saint Lucy, that you would give perfect vision to our eyes, that they may serve for your greater honor and glory and for the salvation of our souls in this world, and that we may come to the enjoyment of yourunfailing light of the Lamb of God in paradise. Saint Lucy, virgin and martyr, hear our prayers and obtain our petitions.

Grant, O God, thy protection,
and in protection, strength,
and in strength, understanding,
and in understanding, knowledge,
and in knowledge, the knowledge of justice,
and in the knowledge of justice, the love of it,
and in that love, the love of all existences,

and in the love of all existences, the love of God,
God and all goodness.

When a child is born,
At the root, is good.
Everyone’s nature is the same
But everyone experiences different things.
If there is no Way,
We will move away from our nature.
The teaching of the Way
Is valuable because it is particular to each [woman and] man.
