Prayer to Become Pregnant

Dear loving heavenly Father,
I am Your child and I long
to have a child of my own in my
arms—a child to love and to cherish
for the rest of my life, just as You have
loved me with Your everlasting love.
Whatever the reason, Lord, that I have not
conceived, I pray, Lord, that You would
give me the strength to get pregnant and
bear a little baby, just as Sarah
in the Old Testament was given the grace to
conceive and bear her son, Isaac…
Lord, if there are any internal complications
in either my husband or me,
I pray that in Your grace
You would enable that to be overcome.
Thank You, Lord, for hearing
my prayer, and I leave my life in Your
hands; in Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.

When Hurting in a Relationship, Say These Words

photo of people near wooden table

Father, only your love is perfect, only your love. Focus my heart on
the joy of your holy, perfect love because in this world human love
will fail. I am a sinner who cannot love others perfectly. Those who
love me will fail and hurt me because they too are sinners. I know
it is true, but Lord, I am overwhelmed and tired of this heartache.
It feels like nothing else matters, because this isn’t right and I can’t
get it out of my mind. Sin is so ugly and destructive, and there are
so many hurts. Sharp words echo in my mind, piercing my heart
over and over. My heart races as I imagine conversations that have
never happened. Hateful glances, lists of past failures; it just gets
bigger and bigger in my mind and is so heavy in my heart. I just
want healing. I need your love and comfort. Jesus, can you just
reach in my heart and remind me of your grace? Heal my torn
heart with your compassion. Tell me again how you wept and
ached over relationships that crushed you when you lived here.
Remind me of your suffering in betrayal, denial, and death. You
know this pain; you lived through it. But more than that, you died
to pay for all this ugly sin. You gave your life because we all need
a Savior. And you lived a perfect life and covered me with your
righteousness. All of this is atoned for with your blood. Fill me
with your grace so I can be strong and forgiving. Drive me to your
Word so I can be guided by your wisdom. Wash me clean and
renew my heart so I long for what is right in your eyes. Calm my
heart, Lord. Own it and rule it. Put your love in my heart and fill
my mind with thoughts that are pleasing to you. Teach me again
to rest in your salvation and entrust my burdens to your care.
Comfort me, Jesus; in your holy name I pray, Amen.

Oration to the Saint of the Impossible

Excellent St. Rita, worker of miracles, from thy sanctuary in
Cascia, where in all thy beauty thou sleepest in peace, where thy
relics exhale breaths of paradise, turn thy merciful eyes on we who
suffer and weep! Thou seest my poor bleeding heart surrounded
by thorns. Thou seest, O dear Saint, that my eyes have no more
tears to shed, so much have I wept! Weary and discouraged as I
am, I feel the very prayers dying on my lips. Must I thus despair
in this crisis of my life? O come, St. Rita, come to my aid and help
me. Art thou not called the Saint of the Impossible, Advocate to
those in despair? Then honor thy name, procuring for me from
God the favor that I ask. (Here ask the favor you wish to obtain.)
Everyone praises thy glories, everyone tells of the most amazing
miracles performed through thee, must I alone be disappointed
because thou hast not heard me? Ah no! Pray then, pray for me to
thy sweet Lord Jesus that He be moved to pity by my troubles and
that, through thee, O good St. Rita, I may obtain what my heart so
fervently desires.

A Child’s Gratitude

Goodnight God.
I hope you are having
a good time being the world.
I like the world very much.
I’m glad you made the plants
and trees survive with the
rain and summers.
When summer is nearly near
the leaves begin to fall.
I hope you have a good time
being the world.
I like how God feels around
everyone in the world.
God, I am very happy that
I live on you.
Your arms clasp around the world.
I like you and your friends.
Every time I open my eyes
I see the gleaming sun.
I like the animals—
the deer,
and us creatures of the world,
the mammals.
I love my dear friends.

Every Single Day Is a Miracle

Each day is a blessing
of epic proportions.
I give thanks for
what might seem meager comforts:
real cream in my coffee,
a day without a bill in the mail,
the Paso Doble.
Sometimes life is a dance
a woman has to do backwards
pushing against the wind
and obstacles in the way.
Thank You for being the partner
who always leads.

Goodness Is Everywhere

I had, a few days ago, an insight which consoled me very much.
It was during my thanksgiving, when I make
a few reflections upon the goodness of God, and
how should one not think of this at such a time, of that
infinite goodness, uncreated goodness, the source of
all goodness.…
I saw written as in letters of gold this word “Goodness”
which I repeated for a long time with indescribable sweetness.
I beheld it, I say, written upon all creatures, animate
and inanimate,
rational or not, all bore this name goodness.…
I understood then that all these creatures have of goodness and
all the services and assistance that we receive from each of them
is a benefit which we owe to the goodness of God
who has communicated to them something of his
infinite goodness
so that we may meet it in everything and everywhere.

I speak to you.
Be still
Know I am God.
I spoke to you when you were born.
Be still
Know I am God.
I spoke to you at your first sight.
Be still
Know I am God.
I spoke to you at your first word.
Be still
Know I am God.
I spoke to you at your first thought.
Be still
Know I am God.
I spoke to you at your first love.
Be still
Know I am God.
I spoke to you at your first song.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the grass of the meadows.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the trees of the forests.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the valleys and the hills.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the Holy Mountains.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the rain and snow.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the waves of the sea.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the dew of the morning.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the peace of the evening.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the splendor of the sun.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the brilliant stars.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the storm and the clouds.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the thunder and lightning.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you through the mysterious rainbow.
Be still
Know I am God.
I will speak to you when you are alone.
Be still
Know I am God.
I will speak to you through the Wisdom of the Ancients.
Be still
Know I am God.
I will speak to you at the end of time. Be still
Know I am God.
I will speak to you when you have seen my Angels.
Be still
Know I am God.
I will speak to you throughout Eternity.
Be still
Know I am God.
I speak to you.
Be still
Know I am God.

Love is Kind

Love is long-suffering,
love is kind,
it is not jealous;
love does not boast,
it is not inflated.
It is not discourteous,
it is not selfish,
it is not irritable,
it does not enumerate the evil.
It does not rejoice over the wrong,
but rejoices in the truth.
It covers all things, it has faith for all things,
it hopes in all things, it endures in all things.

In the Stillness of the Starry Night

photography of night sky

In the joy of your heart,
Your light remains
In the gift of your caring,
Your light remains
Where you reached out to help,
Your light remains
Where you sat in silent peace,
Your light remains
In the place where you worked,
Your light remains
In the stillness of the starry night,
Your light remains
In the light of each day fully embraced,
Your light remains
Like the touch of an Angel,
Your light remains
When you live as a light,
Your heart is joined in the Infinite Light of Love.
And that about you which is eternal…remains.
