I’m not sure why, but I always assumed acid rain didn’t happen anymore. Like it was just something we talked about in the past tense. Then I went to visit some family in a highly forested area, and instead of seeing everything covered in green, I noticed several large spots of brown.
Did you know that there is an organization working to combat the effects of things like acid rain? Basically they’re working to conserve forests–and that includes urban forests! And we can help too, just by planting a tree or two in our yard, or maybe putting a few plants on our balcony. There are even some plants that can help clean out the air indoors!
