It isn’t always easy to be positive, especially when life takes a painful turn. Experiencing unexpected change can make it easy to turn to anger or frustration. Pushing past those immediate feelings to reach a better place can feel impossible. But it’s not. And we all have those days, and it can feel as if they will consume us. But once you find yourself coming back to a better, brighter place (and we all do this at our own pace), the end result of capturing one’s lost joy cannot be beat.
Positivity has an uncanny ability to affect us both physically and mentally. Keeping a positive attitude keeps our heart healthy, our blood pressure down, and our immune systems strong. But more than that, it keeps our minds sharp and open to possibility. When we look on the bright side no matter what hand we’ve been dealt, we put forth beautiful energy into the universe—it may come back when we need it, or go to someone else who needs it now. Nonetheless, while happiness is the harder endeavor, it is always the most worthwhile.
